Oneiromancy
Oneiromancy is a magic that concerns the dreams and their use for creating connections between people, places and events, and obtaining information through dreams. Oneiromancers are specific that they prepare their ritualistic cast, but their magic is performed while they sleep. This can of course become a dangerous deal, not only because they are somewhat less aware of their actual real surroundings, but also because setbacks can lock them out in the dream world for uncomfortably long periods.
As far as low grade oneiromancy is concerned, it is a very powerful tool to pass messages from place to place, without chance of them being
tracked. That of course needs to meet several conditions.
First of all the Oneriomancers needs to have a tool for contacting the other person, willing or unwilling, and such a tool is called Focus.
Distant Focus: to the target of a dream is an item that briefly shared the presence (for a few weeks) and parted again. Such a focus increases the target number of the cast by 2.
Normal Focus is an object of normal daily use that is in possession or vicinity of the target of the dream. Such a focus keeps the basic Target number of the cast the same.
Close Focus is an object that has large relation to the target of the dream. It can be someone's favorite trinket or jewel, someone's sword… Such a focus decreases the Target number by 2.
Then it matters if the target is willing or unwilling. A willing target reduces the target number by 1, an unwilling target increases the target number by 1.
The message as is composed shall arrive, however very concealed, it will be transcribed in a form of a first person dream, and the message will work with images rather than specific words in most cases, and will not be entirely accurate. Things as “passing a code to a lock” are pretty much impossible through Oneiromancy. However, giving someone hints where to look the next day, by giving him a dream about such place is entirely plausible. Each dream should be passed as a notecard, at least three paragraphs worth of a dream.
The message is sent when the caster goes to sleep, the message is received if sent successfully when the receiver goes sleep. That needs to be played out sleep, at least three posts long.
